About Abacus Preschool
Our staff hold relevant qualifications in childcare and each setting has a designated member of staff appointed as a Special Educational Needs co-ordinator (SENCO), supporting children with additional needs, each of our teams also have Designated Safeguarding Leads.
The pre-school works to the requirements of the 1993 Education Act and The Special Educational Needs Code of Practice (2014).
Staff hold relevant qualifications in Paediatric First Aid.
Staff complete training including Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety Fire Safety and more.
Our settings provide care for children term time in line with South Gloucestershire term dates

Forest School Sessions in Baileys Court
Abacus pre-school are proud to be developing Forest School sessions for the children who attend any of the Abacus settings, currently located in Baileys Court.


Jayne Baggott
Director
Jayne Baggott is the founder and director of Abacus Pre-School. Jayne opened Abacus 20 plus years ago. Jayne is passionate in providing the best start in life for all children and families. Jayne’s aim is to provide high quality and affordable childcare to all families throughout South Gloucestershire. Jayne is qualified in both early years and achieved a Level 5 in Management and Leadership.
Amanda Lacey
Area Manager
Amanda Lacey began her journey at Abacus Pre-School as a parent helper in 2010. Amanda has since worked her way up to manage several of our settings along the years. Amanda achieved two Outstanding ofsted ratings within 15 months of each other. Amanda is now our Area Manager supporting all four sites managers/deputies. Amanda is qualified in both early years and has a Level 5 in Management and Leadership.
